Part 8

Next morning I was the first one who was awake. I took a long refreshing shower before I went to downstairs. I made coffee for myself and took some breakfast materials from the fridge. I sat down to wait the coffee to be ready. I didn’t need to be long alone. Little later Mikel entered to the kitchen.

- Morning, he mumbled and rubbed his eyes tiredly.
- The night seemed to go on and on?
- Actually we went to sleep little after you left. But it was a bit strange to sleep here again. So I was lying awaken on my bed about half of the night, Mikel answered and yawned long.
- Oh, I slept well. I didn’t wake at all before this morning, I said.
- Well, that’s good for you. For me it just takes few nights to get used to place where I’m sleeping, Mikel explained.
- Drink some coffee. Maybe it helps a bit, I suggested.
- Yeah, maybe… he said and took a big cup of coffee.
- I would like to ask something, I said finally when we both had been quiet for a while.
- Go ahead, Mikel said and drank some coffee.
- I’ve noticed that you and Basty aren’t so excited about the book like Javi is. Why is that? I asked.
- I don’t know. I just don’t feel comfortable with the idea that all can read my thoughts and feelings from the book, Mikel said.
- On the other hand I understand you. But on the other hand I don’t. I know that you have written some songs for your CDs. I’m pretty sure that those songs have thoughts from your mind too. And everybody can listen to your songs. So, what’s the difference between a book and a song? Both are ways to express your thoughts.
- But music is more familiar to me. It’s easier to me, Mikel said.
- I understand that. But I’m here to trying to write your thoughts so that you could be satisfied too, I explained.
- I know. It just feels still weird way, Mikel sighed.
- I got yesterday so much information from Javi that I don’t know do you even know so many things. But I don’t except the same from you, I added quickly when I noticed that Mikel’s face looked terrified. – You can tell me what you want. I’m not going to force you to say anything else what you don’t want to, I continued.
- Yeah, I believe you. And maybe I’ll start to like this idea some day.
- I hope so. Because writing isn’t so bad thing at all, I smiled.

When I had finally eaten my breakfast and Mikel was still sipping his coffee, Basty and Javi entered to kitchen still half-asleep. I put more coffee to come. It seemed that any of them haven’t slept well last night. I shook my head hopeless. It was going to be very interesting day if guys were so tired. I left them to kitchen and went to my room. I looked my notes again and started already to pick there things which would be nice to include to the book. I concentrated on it so much that I didn’t notice how time was running. Much later I went to downstairs and I saw nobody there. I went to the basement and saw all three guys at the studio. There weren’t any sign of tiredness anymore. I opened the door slowly and put my head into the studio.
- Can I come in? I asked.
- Of course you can! Javi said.
I entered in and sat down to one chair. Guys continued their conversation about some music thing. I couldn’t follow them because I don’t understand anything about the music. It had something to do with the key of one song. Soon they had forgotten me totally. They were composing their new song with total excitement and happiness. It was just good for me. I could watch them again and pick up new things for the book. We all could do our work now.

I had noticed that Mikel got nervous every time I was near with my notebook. He became quiet and nervous. But now he was just himself. Talking, laughing and joking. That Mikel I wanted to the book, not that Mikel who was serious and quiet. Javi was real himself all the time, but I couldn’t say anything about Basty yet. I had to talk with him today.

Part 9

Finally I had little chance to talk with Basty together. Javi and Mikel had disagreed of some things and Javi wanted to prove that he was right. So they went to another room where PC was obviously.
- So, how it’s going? I mean the writing, Basty asked.
- Great, I think. But I’m just planning everything. I would like to ask what you think about this book. I asked finally.
- Well, I think it’s a good idea but I’m not sure if this is the right time to do it. Because we are doing our album at the same time.
- Okay. But does it distract if I’m sitting here on the background and listening to your conversations? I asked.
- No! Actually I didn’t even notice you when you were sitting here.
- That’s good. And of course I’m not here all the time. I need to start writing as soon as I get the first good idea what to write. And of course if you have ideas I would be really grateful to hear them, I said.

And then our conversation ended. Mikel and Javi came back. Both looked a bit annoyed.
- I was 100 % sure that I was right, Mikel complained.
- Well, so did I, Javi answered a bit bad mood.
- Why there were arguing? I asked from Basty.
- They were discussing about the fact when Elvis died, he answered.
- He died 16th of August in 1977, I told immediately.
Javi and Mikel just stared at me surprised.
- You knew it… Javi said slowly.
- Of course I knew it. He’s a legend. And besides, I like his music, I rolled my eyes.
- And I was so sure about that he died in 1978, Mikel sighed.
- Indeed. I thought it was in 1976, Javi admitted.
- You like his music…But have you even heard our music? Basty asked.
- Actually I haven’t I confessed finally.
- Come here, Basty asked and I followed him to another rom.
- Here you go our CDs. Stereos are over there and headphones if you need, Basty led me.
I looked at him and then at the stereos.
- You could have just said if you wanted to be only together, I said.
- No, I didn’t mean that. The following hours are as boring as the first ones were. So it’s much more comfortable to you if you’re listening to our music than staring us bored, Basty explained. – And besides you may get ideas from our songs.
I just nodded and put their first CD Capaz de todo into the stereos.

“A contracorriente vive hoy mi razón...” a voice started to sing. I couldn’t say who there was singing and when. I haven’t ever heard any of them singing. The truth was that their music was great. They had to have lots of fans. So, they really needed this book. They could maybe get more fans. That kind of fans who were more interested books and who followed what kind of new books were published.

I was lying on the sofa and enjoying of he music. My thoughts were wondering there and back. Once I thought about D’Nash. Then I was thinking if I should start to write new book soon. If I just knew the subject where to write. I changed their second CD to the stereos too. I relaxed totally. I didn’t want to stress anymore about this book. I had stressed enough in my life already.

Guys found me few hours later still listening to their songs.
- I have an idea but I don’t know if you like it, I said.
- Tell us. You can know it only then, Mikel said.
- All of your songs have beautiful lyrics. So, my idea is that every of you take one or two parts of some song and you can tell why you chose just that part. What do you think?
I saw how Basty looked at Javi and it wasn’t a nice look at all.
- I don’t know. It sounds great but I don’t know if we’re ready to tell our own private life in the book, Javi answered.
- It’s okay if you don’t want to do that. I’m just telling my ideas because you haven’t told any to me, I said.
- We have our own work too. So it’s a bit impossible to think everything at the same time, Mikel answered a bit coldly.
I could feel how the temperature went down in the room.
- I know and I understand it. But Javi said that this project wouldn’t disturb your real work, I said coldly too.

I couldn’t stand that situation anymore. I left from the room and went straight away to my own room. Now it was really proved. Mikel at least didn’t want this book. And now I was in impossible situation. I didn’t know should I continue this or not. I stayed in my room the rest of the day. I went down only to eat dinner. I didn’t speak much there either. It was totally the same to me who had made the food. And I saw that everything wasn’t right between the guys either.

Some tesnses between them.. Oehh..

Oh, the tension! I hope it gets better soon (:

Next morning Javi was the first one who woke up. He thought that Ana would have woken already and went to kitchen. But there were nobody. On the table was only a note.

“I’m sorry but I had to visit Madrid. I took your car. I hope you don’t need it while I’m away. My manager called me this morning so I need to do some work things. But I’m coming back already this night or evening. And I have one thing for you what you could think while I’m in Madrid. Do you really want to do this book? And I want the answer when I’ve arrived. I’ve noticed that you don’t collaborate at all in this thing. And I had time to surf on the net yesterday. I searched everything about you. And I found your official forum. There I saw all those things which you had made for the fans. And things which fans had done for you. I noticed how hard they had worked to get some surprises for you. So, wouldn’t it be nice thanks if you made this book for fans? You are great band. I can confess that I have never seen other band that cares about their fans like you do. So, I think you owe this book for your fans. They deserve to know something else about you than just the basic details. Something you really think and feel. Of course this is totally your decision but this is my point of view. Ana”

Javi stared at the message for a while. Obviously they finally had to talk. He showed the message to Basty and Mikel when they finally woke up.
- So… We just have to talk then I guess, Basty sighed.
- Indeed we have! I’ve tried my best but you two are making this so hard! Is it so difficult to tell your thoughts and feelings to Ana? Javi asked and raised his voice.
- Everybody isn’t so open people like you are! You could even tell your granny’s death to totally unknown person, Mikel started yell to Javi.
- Hey guys. Can we talk like adults? Basty stopped the fight before it had even started well.
- I can talk calmly. But I don’t know about Mikel, Javi rolled his eyes and gave a bad look to Mikel.
- Ana’s message got me to think this situation over again. And I think now we really should do this. I mean it would be so great to see fans’ surprised faces when we would tell them about our book, Basty explained. – So, it’s two against one now Mikel.
- Actually three against one if we add Ony too, Javi added.
- Now it’s up to you Mikel, Basty said slowly.
There was a short quiet moment in the kitchen.
- Okay. Let’s do it really, Mikel sighed finally.
- Now we just need to figure out some good ideas for the book, Javi said gladly. – And thanks that you really agreed this. I’m sure that this is going to be great.
- No problem. Actually it was Ana’s message which turned my head at last. So you should thank her, Mikel said.
- We have the whole day time to think about the book. What if we’ll go to studio now and then we could start thinking about the book, Basty suggested.
- Sounds great. Actually I got some new ideas last night when I couldn't sleep. I want to try if they’re good enough, Mikel told.
- I want to hear them, Javi said. – You always have the best ideas.
- Eeermm… Thanks, Mikel blushed.
- So, let’s go or we don’t have time to think about the book thing at all, Basty told.
