Part 1
I was looking at the menu.
‘Ca…ca…ca…shit, I can’t even read it right,’ I laughed.
‘Well, try reading “tapas” then,’ Kerolain said. She was my best friend since we were 6, but when she was 15, her parents moved out to Spain and took her with them, naturally. Now we were 20 and I came to Spain too. Kerolain was studying and working at the same time, she was still my best friend and let me live with her, so we shared the bills and lonely evenings.
‘TA-PAS,’ I said like a five-year-old.
‘Good girl,’ Kerolain teased me.
‘Veeeeeeeeeery funny,’ I muttered and smiled yet.
‘Talk like Spanish… You should say “bery funny”,’ Kerolain said.
‘Bery? Since when very is bery?’ I asked confused.
‘Oh, well, it’s just a joke… You know d’NASH, don’t you? Well, one of the guys says “bery”… It sounds so sexy!’ Kerolain laughed.
‘Ker, you should stop drooling over those guys, I’m telling you,’ I laughed.
‘Haha…’ she didn’t laugh, but said. ‘Had you seen his chest, you’d be drooling like a baby now too,’ she added and I shook my head.
‘Na-ah. I grew up from that age,’ I teased her. We were born the same year.
Kerolain made a funny face to me. Then she ordered us something eatable (I still couldn’t pronounce the name of the dish).
‘So, tell me, what about them you DON’T know?’ I laughed once again when I saw a dreamy look in her eyes. She was obviously thinking of d’NASH, cause she blushed a little bit when I asked her.
‘Oh, you just think I know everything, but I know only simple facts about them. Nothing more. Nothing what I wish I knew,’ she added and smiled.
‘Like what underwear they wear?’ I teased.
‘Actually, every fan knows THAT,’ Ker said and I burst into laughing. ‘People are staring, could you calm down?’ Ker asked me after few minutes. I wiped a tear off my face.
‘Sorry, just it sounded funny,’ I said and drank some water to calm down.
‘Oh wait, actually, people aren’t staring… Just one guy. Weird, he reminds me of Mikel from d’NASH…’ Ker said.
‘What?’ I started to laugh again. ‘Haha, no, really…stop watching their vids of else every guy will remind you of Mikel, Ony, Javi and Dasty,’ I said.
‘Basty, not Dasty,’ Ker said.
‘Whatever,’ I replied and looked around. ‘Which guy was staring at me?’ I asked curiously.
‘Oh, he is gone already,’ Ker replied and took a look at her watch. ‘Oh shit, we have to hurry… I will give you a lift to university, alright?’ Ker asked.
‘Thanks, Ker, you’re simply da best! What would I do here in Spain if I didn’t know you?’ I thanked her.
‘You’d be hungry, cause you couldn’t even pronounce “paella”, she laughed.
‘Hey, I CAN pronounce that. Look: paela,’ I said.
‘Paella, not paela,’ Kerolain laughed.
‘Whatever,’ I laughed. We finished our lunch fast and went out the café.

Kerolain stopped her car near university and I went out. I leaned to the window and smiled.
‘Hey, thanks for the lift again, Ker,’ I said.
‘No need to thank me,’ she replied.
‘Maybe we could some day eat some paella?’ I asked.
‘Hey, you CAN say “paella”,’ Kerolain laughed.
‘Keeeer,’ I rolled my eyes.
‘Alright, alright, just teasing you… Oh… Wait… THAT guy… From the café!’ Kerolain pointed at one guy chatting with his oh-my-so-cool friends.
‘Oh, THAT one… Well, no wonder he was staring then. Since the day I am here, he tries to get my attention. Up until now I perfectly managed to pretend I haven’t noticed him,’ I laughed.
‘But he’s cute… His nose and lips are like Mikel’s!’
‘Oh come on… Stop wasting your time with your silly fantasies about those guys. Grow up!’ I gave her a sincere advice.
‘Oh well, whatever,’ she didn’t care to listen. ‘But he really looks like…like…’
I sighed.
‘Ker…’
‘Que?’ she asked.
‘They call him Nick, I don’t know if it’s really his name or not. Nick is not Mikel,’ I said.
‘I KNOW he’s not Mikel, come on, I would know it’s Mikel even if my eyes were closed,’ Kerolain laughed.
I sighed.
‘You will never change, will ya?’
‘Oh, look, I must go now. Go get him, tiger!’ she laughed and I barely managed to jump away from the car, she drew away fast.
‘Yes, buh-bye,’ I muttered to myself and turned to the university. I started walking towards it when I heard them talking loudly again (they were acting the same anytime I was around).
‘There are only few beautiful girls around here,’ the guy, who stared, said in English. He obviously knew my Spanish was almost ‘nada’.
‘Yeah, Nick, you’re totally right,’ another guy said with a very Spanish accent. I grinned into my books, which I was holding near my face.
‘Well, there is one nice girl,’ the “Nick-guy” said. I heard steps behind me and started walking faster. ‘Hey, chica, espera,’ he yelled. ‘What’s your name, beauty?’ he yelled once more but I went into the building.
‘What an idiot,’ I muttered and went to the cabinet I was about to get a lecture of my subject.

That Nick doesn't seem like a bad guy...
