Part 3
Wednesday, 22nd October

My dear Diary,
Wow! Last night was great fun! When we got to the ‘Pixie’s’, we saw Mikel waiting for us near the front door ALONE.
“The guys are already inside” he said probably realizing my surprise
“Hi Mikel, let’s get in too then” I said smiling
“Let me tell you, you all look gorgeous tonight”
“Thanks. Well, you already know Laura. This is my sister, Monika”, I said pointing to Monika
“Hi Monika”
“…Hi”
We headed to a table near the bar where Mikel’s friends where sitting.
“Girls, this is Ony and Javi. And this is Monika, Amanda and Laura” Mikel introduced everybody.
“Nice to meet you” Ony said
I couldn’t help staring at him. He was SO handsome! Brown eyes, blond hair and I also noticed a tattoo written in Spanish on his muscular arm, which, to be honest wouldn’t be very difficult to notice since he only wore a sleeveless T-Shirt. He was so sexy… I barely noticed Javi, quite cute with his green eyes and black hair.
They told us that they too came from Spain and were staying in England to study, just like us. At some point Mikel asked me to dance. While we were dancing I saw Ony lead Monika to the dance floor. After a couple of songs, the DJ started playing one of my favorites, “Spanish Eyes”. Unexpectedly, Ony reached me before I had sat down and asked me to dance with him. Mikel also asked Monika so it was as though we has switched partners.
The feeling while we were dancing together was amazing! I felt so safe in his arms. Nothing else mattered. I was just starring at his eyes… his “Spanish Eyes”…
Even though the song had ended we were still dancing. And then, I caught a familiar face watching me. I froze. What was Basty doing here? He approached us looking…relieved.
“Hi Ony, hi sis” he said
“Hey Basty. I thought you were staying in to study tonight” Ony said
“I had to check out the girls. I’m glad they are with you”
“Oh, so you know each other?” I asked
“Yeah, we have been friends since we got here” Basty told me
“Why don’t you join us? Are you alone?” Ony asked
“no, Jessica is here too. Somewhere…” he said searching for her in the crowd. “Give me a minute to find her”
Ony and I went back to out table.
“Who was that you were talking to?” Laura asked me confidentially.
“ My bro, Basty”
“OMG, he’s so handsome” she exclaimed loud enough only for me to hear.
“Hmm… As far as I know he doesn’t have a girlfriend at the time being”
Basty came then followed by a brown-eyed girl with long brown curly hair, presumably Jessica. I noticed Javi’s face light up as soon as his eye caught Jessica, who, as I was told later, was also studying Law.
We all had a great time! We went home by 12. It wasn’t easy to fall asleep, what with all that had happened. But guess what I dreamt of… Ony of course!

My dear Diary,
Today was my second day at work. I really like it but the best of it is knowing that I don’t have to depend on someone else to make it through. I was cleaning a table when Mikel entered the café.
“Hi Mik! What’s up?”
“Hey Amanda, I’d like to talk to you”, he said
“You seem I can’t right now but I’ll be done in half an hour. Why don’t you sit down? Monika will come any moment too”, I said
“”Well, I wanted to talk to you in private… Hey, Joe (he called my boss) can I talk to her for 5?”
“Ok”
“Thanks. Can we talk now?” he said to me.
“Ok, tell me”.
“Well, the day before yesterday, at the club, we had a great time and…”
“What?”
“Well, there are two things”
“Go on”
“Firstly, Ony told me to ask you if you would like to go out with him and if I could give him your phone number”
“Yeah, sure. And what’s the second?”
“Well…I need a favor. Can you ask Monika id she’d like to go for dinner with me?”
“Yeah, but don’t you ask her yourself?”
“Will you ask her, please?”
“Alright. Is this all?”
“Yes. Thanks so much. See you”
“Bye”
He seemed a little surprised as he left, probably because I couldn’t hide a smile of happiness while we talked. I can’t believe Ony asked me to go out with him! Wow!
Soon after Moni came and we left together. I spent the rest of the evening trying to concentrate on studying, which was awfully difficult as my mind constantly deviated to thinking of you know who. But I’m too tired now so I give up. Buenas noches my sweetie
