Part 11
It was half past 7 and Sergo stepped out of the shower. She did her hair and make-up. Some perfume finished it and she walked to the living room.
‘Buenos días,’ was said to her.
‘Buenos días,’ she said back. The boys also took a shower she saw. The hair of Ony and Javi was still wet and Mikel’s hair almost not. Only Basty who always woke up early was totally awake, and compared to the other boys, who were or reading the paper, or hanging lazy in front of the TV, he was putting things for the breakfast on the table. Sergo walked to Basty and helped him, she was now for almost three weeks with the boys. She knew the boys better now and liked them much. Especially with Ony, she could talk hours about everything, like her he had a clear opinion about things and was good in defending them. Also with Basty she hang out a lot. He was silent, but he took care that everyone felt home. He liked cooking and Sergo helped him a lot in the kitchen. That they ate only fast-food, what stood in the magazines and where she was scared of, was absolutely not true.
‘We do during the tours,’ Basty told her. ‘But when I have time, I cook.’
With Javi she couldn’t really get along. He was kind, and didn’t treated her like a child, but after the music, they had totally different interests and so thee kept being a sort of distance between them. She also didn’t liked Mikel that much. He always acted cool, made jokes all the time and was always laughing, but he didn’t told anything about himself. He was a bit showing off, she hoped he would change. But still he was kind and outgoing, sometimes he helped with school, he was good at the languages except for Swedish. She had also every day two hours of private lessons for her Spanish and she could ask for explanation. Sometimes she still didn’t understood it and Mikel had said her she could always ask him for help, and she liked that, because he was a good teacher. She putted the orange juice at the table. After this again to the studio. First she would get two hours of sing lessons where she learned to breath with singing while she also was dancing. So she would also get a better condition so that she could manage the tours, and of course to get the best out of her voice. After that she practised with the boys with the songs on the CD, to make their voices fit more. Sergo did especially background vocals but in some songs she also had a solo, after they changed. En Medio De La Calle they would record again as bonus, where they sang together just like the evening she was discovered. After that they would take a one hour break and continued after that. On 3 o’clock, they went to the apartment and Sergo followed lessons. Sometimes the boys went away for interviews. Sergo couldn’t wait till she finally would be also there, though she was scared of the reactions of the fans. If there would be someone else than her in D’NASH, she also won’t like that. In the evenings the boys answered fanmail, they were together, did the groceries, or just had some time to do things for their selves. However Sergo enjoyed her new life, she missed the time for herself. Not the whole behind the computer, no reading, no talking with her friends… She called her mom everyday around seven o’clock and they always talked for like an hour. After that she always called a quarter with her friends and after that there was always someone who called her. If there wasn’t any fanmail to answer, or the boys didn’t needed the computer or laptop she could go on the evenings on MSN, and surfing on the internet. The questions of her classmates she answered with ‘you’ll hear that someday’ Also people she knew over internet asked why she wasn’t on that often as before. She told only her best friends what it was. Tina had typed twenty sentences with only ‘whaaaaah’ when she got to hear it. Now she called every week once with her, and was it silent at Tina’s side when she heard Javi’s voice or one of the others’ in the background. Sergo couldn’t imagine what was so great about hearing that, though she would have had the same feeling if this would have happened to one of her friends. The boys still were her idols, but now also friends of her.
Basty pushed her. ‘Hello dreamer, we are going to have breakfast.’
Sergo putted the butter, she still had in her hands, down and sat down on one of the chairs. She smeared a toast. Everyone was more silent than normal. Javi had been to his girlfriend. Sergo discovered he had often girlfriends, this girl was the third one in two weeks. He kept saying he had been really in love with all three. So the fans got to hear all the boys were single. Ony was obviously thinking of something. He said nothing and started in front of him, sometimes to Sergo, or maybe Mikel who was next to her. Sergo herself still thought about her friends, she missed the fun with them, but realized they had to go to school. A few weeks and than she would see them. For her birthday she would give a party, and even Tina, Heli and Rick would come, together with all her other friends. Anna, one of her other friends, couldn’t come. Basty was silent, like always. And Mikel tried to keep the conversation alive, what didn’t worked because the others were somewhere else with their thoughts. Sergo ate her sandwich, she asked herself the question how everyone could fit in this living room.
‘Alright, it’s a quarter past, we have to clean and you, except for Basty, didn’t eat at all. What’s up?’ Mikel asked while he stood up and putted his plate in the dishwasher. The butter, orange juice, and that stuff went back to the fridge. Basty helped him while Sergo, Javi and Ony ate their breakfast in TGV-speed. Their cups and plates went as last to the washer. They putted their jackets on and walked the small distance to the studio…

‘See you soon,’ Sergo said and walked to the room where, Natasha, her sing teacher, impatiently was waiting for her. She was a young woman, around 25 years. She had played in a few musicals and was an amazing teacher.
‘You are late,’ she said when Sergo entered the room, Sergo apologized and knew Natasha wasn’t waiting for a reason. She had a beautiful voice and had sang since she was a little child. A better teacher you didn’t find. Every lesson Sergo learned more of her. Natasha worked together with her sister, Julia, here. They were a part of the success of D’NASH. They had been their vocal coaches, now only Julia was with them, because Nastasha had to teach Sergo, but sometimes they changed. Now the singing practise started.

‘You weren’t pure at the last ‘yo’ and with medio you took a note too high,’ Natasha improved her, and Sergo tried it again.
‘Try to keep breathing normal, your voice doesn’t sound better when you get blue, better miss a syllable than run out of breath. This time the chorus and second couplet, por favor!’ Sergo tried to do what Natasha wanted.
‘Dear, the couplet didn’t sounded like Spanish, more a mix of Spanish and Swedish. Bad words you can always say good, but others…’ Natasha sighed.
‘I work at my pronouncing,’ Sergo said before she tried it again. She had to take care of so much things. ‘Pronouncing, sing pure, keep breathing, ok.’
‘Look, that sounded better. Take care of that you are on the note, and don’t sing to it, only at the end that’s good. We continue with Esta Vez Si,’ she putted the song on, and told her when she had to sing and when not. After that they did some condition tests, acting like she was on a real stage and sing long.
‘More spontaneous,’ Natasha kept repeating. ‘Happier. It must be nice to see, and you mustn’t hear it’s difficult for you.’
Sergo kept singing, but Natasha never was completely confident, but Sergo got used to that. The first days she went almost disappointed to the lessons, but Ony had told her that it was only meant as advice, but critical advice. ‘Perfection doesn’t exist, so you have to work hard to get it so perfect as is possible.’
Sergo accepted that and kept practising and practising.
‘You aren’t prepared when you are here, if you would we would have lots of more time,’ Natasha said.
‘When do I have to do that? I now already have to wake up early,’ Sergo said.
‘Under shower? During breakfast? Be creative!’
‘Hmm…’ Sergo said. Well, if it helped, she would do it. But the idea of singing under shower was so not charming.
‘Good, sing En Medio De La Calle again,’ Natasha said. And Sergo did more to make it sound good because she now also was prepared. It went very well and even on Natasha’s face appeared a smile.
‘You sang it beautiful, with so much feeling.’
Sergo was proud, this was the first time her teacher said it was good. That she after that got again thousands of critics, didn’t bothered her.
‘Sing one time more and than the time is up,’ Natasha said. Sergo sang again and took care of the technique. When she was ready Natasha nodded to her.
‘Enough for today,’ Sergo shook Natasha’s hand and took her backpack. At the door her teacher called her.
‘Yes?’ Sergo asked.
‘I’m confident, you make good progression.’
Sergo smiled. ‘Thanks,’ she said, she waved and walked out of the door and bumped immediately into Ony who was waiting for her.
‘What do you want?’ he smiled secretly and together they walked to the room where the boys got their sing lessons. It was a real record room. There were already a few songs recorded, where she got background vocals and also where she didn’t sang.
‘I have good news, and better news,’ Ony said with sparkles in his eyes while they entered the room. Julia, the boys’ teacher and hers in this hour wasn’t here.
‘Tell!’ Sergo said curious.
‘We’re almost ready here, and you seem to get better and better also…’
‘Seems?’ Sergo interrupted him.
‘You were already good but probably you sing now even better. Well, it’s good enough that we take two weeks free now and than start recording.’
‘AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!’ Sergo screamed and jumped in the air. ‘Whooo!’ she grabbed Ony’s hands and started dancing around of happiness. Ony smiled and let Sergo pulling him with her.
‘Oh amazing!’ Sergo said with sparkling eyes. ‘When did you heard it?’
‘Mar called yesterday. He talked with the others and Julia and Natasha.’
‘Oh, I’m so excited!’ Sergo said and Ony laughed. On that moment Julia entered the room. She looked at Sergo who was still dancing around en looked at her.
‘You told her about the recordings?’ she asked. She was a young woman, and looked exactly like her sister. She was always happy.
‘First your background songs, than Esta Vez Si and Yo Por Ti, Tu Por Mi after that En Medio de la Calle, and than…’
‘Julia!’
‘Oh, you didn’t told that yet?’ the woman asked to Ony.
‘What?’ Sergo asked not-understanding.
‘Sergo…’ Ony took a sheet of paper out of the pocket of his pants. ‘I have written a lyric and Julia helped me with the melody, I let it hear to Mar and he promised to take care of the instruments. It’s now finished and we made a test version, and now, well what do you think of practising your duet?’
