Part 7

Chasity opened her bedroom door and let Javi in.
He grabbed some clothes and cd's. 'Don't forget your disc-man,' she said and sniffed. He took the disc-man from the bed and put it in his bag. Chasity leant against the door and stared to the ground while Javi was taking his stuff from the bathroom.
Chasity couldn't stop her tears and softly cried. When Javi came back from the bathroom he looked at her. He dropped his bag and hugged her.
'I don't want you to leave,' she gasped. 'But still I want you to go, it's so hard to see you pack your stuff and to know that I'll probably never see you again.'
'I'm really gonna miss you,' he whispered and caressed her back. Chasity released him and wiped some tears away. 'You're the best,' she said with a dry voice and took his hand. Suddenly he took her chin and kissed her. She shivered and was surprised. He placed his hand on her shoulder and caressed her side with the other one. Chasity couldn't resist but kissing him back. She swap her arms around his neck and wrestled her hands through his hair. But then she realised they couldn't fell in love. Not now he was leaving. And they were friends, nothing more. She pushed him away and looked with a shocked expression at Javi.
'I'm so sorry... I'm so, so sorry!' he said nervously and quickly grabbed his bag. Chasity was speechless. He opened the door and walked out of the room. She didn't realised what just happened to her... to them. They kissed! But why?! They aren't supposed to kiss!
She heard Javi running from the stairs. She pushed her head against the wall and groaned. Just at this moment he did something stupid like this! She sighed and walked downstairs slowly. Before she entered the living room she sneaky looked at the couches. Javi tried to pretend as normal as possible. She took a few steps back and then walked in a normal way into the living room. Javi didn't dare to look at her. She sat down on another couch and stared at a bowl with fruit. Their parents just talked on.
'Did you packed everything?' Maria suddenly said to Javi.
'Uhm.. yeh, I think so,' he muttered.
'Didn't forget something?'
'Nope, I've got everything,' he said.
'Why don't you stay here for dinner?' Simona proposed. Francisco and Maria nodded. Javi nodded quickly and stared at his feet.
Chasity didn't say anything about it. Suddenly the phone rang. Simona walked to the phone and picked it up.
'With Simona D'Anoire ... yes ... in 15 minutes? ... ok ... yes they are here ... they are staying for dinner ... yes ... ok ... see you then! Bye!' she said and hang up. 'Juan is coming home within 15 minutes!' Simona winked and sat back on the couch again. 'Why don't you play Halo?' she said to Javi and Chasity. They both felt really uncomfortable. Javi stood up without saying a word and walked to the X-Box. Chasity didn't follow him.
'Aren't you going with him?' Maria said. 'Ehm... I need to go to the toilet,' she said and quickly walked to the toilet. 'Is there something wrong?' Francisco said confused when Chasity was away. 'Of course! They are sad because they can't see each other anymore!' Maria whispered.
'Well, not anymore. Chas can always call Javi and do things together like they did before,' Simona said. 'I don't think Javi will have time for Chas anymore when his career began,' Francisco shook his head.
'You'll never know. Don't be so negative!' Maria said.
Chasity came back and stood still. She didn't know what to do: sat back on the couch and hear them talk about her and Javi's youth or go to Javi and sit there in silence. She decided to go to Javi.
She sat down next to him. He wasn't as fanatically playing as he did before his parents came. He was game-over all the time.
Suddenly he paused the game and looked at her. 'Look, what happened upstairs. Forget about that, I have no idea what I was doing,' he said.
Chasity turned her head away and looked at the tv screen. 'How could I forget that?' she whispered, 'I mean... it came so suddenly. I was sad already because you are leaving and then you... did that.'
'Like I said, I'm sorry and I didn't know what was wrong with me that moment,' he said and still looked at her. She shook her head confused.
'How couldn't you know that? You did it in a slow way, like you really wanted to.'
'I don't know what I'm feeling now.'
'Do you love me?' Chasity said and looked at him.
'I love you as a friend.'
'Friends don't kiss each other.'
'I know.'
'Then why you did it?!' she almost yelled.
'Sssh! Our parents musn't know about this! ... I don't know why I did it. I mean, when you lay in my arms few days ago it felt so good and for one moment I thought I really loved you. Then I forgot about the feeling and when we were upstairs I felt it again and, losing control, I just kissed you.'
Chasity sighed.
'Wait, you kissed me back,' he suddenly said.
'I... I didn't,' she stuttered.
'You did! You hugged me and caressed my hair!'
'I know,' she whispered.
'Then why you did?'
'I have no idea. It was like a reflection, I guess.'
'You guess,' he repeated and walked away.
She took his hand and pulled him back on the couch.
'Have you got any idea how I feel?! You just kissed me right before you're leaving to start a career and I thought we were just friends! I'm confused about what I feel about you and I don't know what will happen when we're saying goodbye!' she said.
'Do you think it's only hard for you that I'm leaving?'
'Well... no... but.'
'Then shut your talk about how you're feeling and that I have no idea about your thoughts. I feel the same! And maybe I feel even worse! So, please stop feeling sorry for yourself,' he said, pulled his hand out of hers and walked to the backdoor outside.

Part 8

When dinner came Javi’s and Chasity’s parents only talked on and on about everything like nothing was going on. They laughed and talked a lot.
Chasity and Javi were quiet, didn’t looked at each other and just ate.
When dinner was ready and the farewell came, their parents hugged each other and promised each other to call or write some time. They decided to leave Chasity and Javi alone.
‘So... you really are going to leave,’ Chasity said and didn’t dare to look at him.
‘Yes, I am,’ he said quietly. Chasity looked at the ground and sighed.
‘I thought this would go different.’
‘What do you mean?’
‘Just, hugging eachother, crying and then say goodbye. But now we both don’t know what to say,’ Chasity said.
‘Javi! We have to go!’ Francisco yelled from far.
‘I have to go,’ he said.
Chasity looked up. She had tears in her eyes but tried to hide them.
Javi took her hand and caressed it. ‘Remember, I will never forget you,’ he whispered.
‘I won’t either.’
Then they hugged tightly. ‘Please don’t go,’ she muttered in his shoulder.
‘I have to, there’s no way back. Everything is settled,’ Javi said. Chasity heard tears in his voice.
‘Don’t go,’ she repeated.
‘You know I can’t.’
‘I know but I badly want you to stay. I wished I’d never told you to sign that contract. It was the most stupid thing ever to say.’
‘I want this and I’m not going back.’
‘I know, still I wish you the very best.’
They slowly released each other and both sighed.
‘Just don’t think this is the end of our friendship,’ Javi said.
‘I won’t think that... never.’
Javi placed his hand on her cheek. Then he came closer with his head and gave a soft kiss. Their lips barely touched, maybe just a bit. Then he stick his hand in his pocket and got a black toy car out of it and put it in her hand. ‘Keep this,’ he said.
Chasity looked at the toy and closed her hand. She gave a kiss on his cheek and whispered, ‘goodbye.’ Like in slow motion their hands released and Javi walked away and step into the car. Chasity waved weakly.
Javi went away, out of the street, out of Sevilla, out of Chasity’s life...
