We got in his navy Audi and put on the radio. Radio 1, my favourite stations. Scott Mills, my favourite DJ. The song Mercy by Duffy was playing. We both sang along, at the top of our lungs.

Then the news came on and we didn’t want to listen to that so he put on a CD. It was the Wombats.

- OMG I looooooooooove the Wombats! I smiled. This is one of my favourite albums ever!
- Seriously? No one else in the whole of Spain listens to them!
- That’s because they are British and sing in English!
- No, its because they are indie/rock/alternative! He made the appropriate hand gestures with the slashes.
- What’s wrong with that?
- Spanish people don’t like that kind of style, generally we prefer a bit of pop or hip hop and r’n’b and obviously Latin music.
- Huh… you learn something new everyday! I smiled.
- Yeah, I’m glad this CD is that good, or I would be majorly pissed. It cost me 45 euros to import it over!
- couldn’t you have gotten it through the record company?
- Are you kidding me? He looked shocked.

He opened the door for me to get out of his car.

- This way Ma’am. He held out his arm for me to take.
He hummed “Backfire at the disco” By the Wombats as I followed him to the door.
- Thank you so much Javi! I hugged him again before he unlocked the door.
- Stop saying thank-you or I will have to hit you!
- To be honest, I don’t think it would bother me..
- What wouldn’t bother you?

- Don’t take offense, but you haven’t exactly got a lot of erm… muscle power.
- OI! He rolled up his sleeve. Look at all THIS muscle.
I stifled a laugh. He was being so nice to me, I couldn’t bruise his ego.
- Oh yeah, I didn’t see that before. I lied.
- Uh huh! He smiled, looking please with himself. My lie worked.
He looked the door and we stepped inside.
- You know what? I asked.

- You have a lush house!
- Why thank you! He took a bow.
- So, make your self at home, but first I’ll show you to your room.
- I have a room!?
- Well it’s the guest room, and you’re a guest so yeah!
- Awesome!

He showed me to the room, it had a double bed, with a flower bed spread and matching curtains.

- It looks great! Thanks.
He hit me.
- Ow. I said flatly.
- Oh har har. I’ll leave your bag on the bed, and ill come back in a bit. Feel free to roam.
