Part 16

In front of me sat Mikel.
‘Hola! I didn’t knew you had a motor!’
‘Hola! Ah, well, you don’t know everything about me. I share him with Dani.’
‘Ok.. Shall we go?’
‘Allright. Here.’
And he gave me a helmet.
‘Where are we going to?’
I asked while putting the helmet on.
‘It’s a surprise.. You’ll see.’
He said with a smile. I sat down behind him. Quick I swapped my arms around his waist. He was pretty strong for someone who looked so skinny. The engine roared and we took of. We drove to a beautiful place near the sea. I didn’t saw a thing during the ride. As many times before I was somewhere between heaven and Earth. Suddenly we stopped. I released him and looked around me.
‘Wow Mikel! It’s beautiful here!’
He smiled and took my hand. We walked to a place on a cliff. You could see the sea beneath you. It was wonderful. There stood a picnic basket. We sat down on the blanket. Mikel had put some strawberries, bread, wine and other stuff in the basket.

After the picnic:

We were watching sunset. Mikel had his arm around me. Suddenly a dolphin sprang up and made a flip. It was so beautiful. I enjoyed of every second. I stared into the sky and watched the clouds. Suddenly a tear rolled over my cheek. Quick I whipped it away. Mikel didn’t had to saw that I was crying.
‘He.. Everything allright?’
Shit… He had noticed..
‘Yes.. It’s just.. I miss my mom and dad.. I can’t believe it.. He was the manager of Felippe Massa for years and watched many, many races and there never happened a thing.. And now.. Now that stupid Fernando looses control of his car, and kills my parents..’
‘I understand it.. It was a big shock for you.. It’s ok that you cry about it.. And I heard that Fernando survived the crash but he’s in a coma… The doctors don’t know if he will wake up..’
He hugged me tight. I smiled through my tears.
‘Come!’
And he took my hand. We walked over a small path down the cliff to the beach. We walked over the beach. This date was so romantic. It was perfect. After a while we walked back to the blanket. Mikel had took a small radio with him and turned a CD on. The silence was rude interrupted by salsa music. Again he took my hand and putted my arms around his neck. His hands were on my hips and he started to dance.
‘You can dance really good! And that after two weeks! I’m impressed!’
I stuck my tongue out to him.
‘Why are you doing that!’
‘Why are you teasing me?’
‘Hmm.. I like to teas you..’
‘O God.. You sound just like Basty.. He always teases me.. But I have the perfect thing to punish him..’
‘Do I wanna know what that is?’
Some kinda fear sounded in his voice. But it was played, coz I saw the smile on his face.
‘Pillow..’
‘What? Pillow?’
‘Yes.. I hit him with a pillow if he teases me.’
‘Well, good luck with that here! Glad that there are no pillows here!’
‘Oh.. I have other things to use as a punishment..’
He looked frightened at me. I smiled and started to tickle him.
‘See?’
He wiggled and laughed. He started to tickle me too and soon we were rolling over the ground. We stopped and I looked into his green eyes.
‘Shall I bring you back?’
I looked at my watch. It was 22.00.
‘Wow! Is it that late already?! We have to go! Tomorrow is just an ordinary schoolday..’
We walked to the motor and Mikel drove me back to Cádiz.


‘Thank you.. For everything..’
I said.
‘De nada amiga..’
He leaned forward and kissed me on my cheek. His lips were so soft. He gave me the feeling I was flying. But I came really quick back on Earth.
‘Ciao! See you tomorrow at school!’
And he walked to his motor. I leaned against the frontdoor. Suddenly somebody opened the door and I fell inside. If Basty hadn’t catched me, I should have led on the floor.
‘Hola! How was your date?’
I looked into the smiling face of Basty.
‘You! You are soo mean!! I almost fell on the floor!’
‘Well.. You didn’t right?’
He was right. He helped me up and looked at me curious.
‘And?’
‘And what?’
‘And what?! How was your date!’
‘It was terrible!! He forced me to eat I-don’t-know-what-it-was but it was terrible!’
‘I don’t believe you!’
I started to laugh.
‘Your face!! Incredible!! Whaha!’
‘Ok! Now serious!!’
I walked upstairs. He followed me and sat down on my bed.
‘Tell me..’
I sat down next to him and stared at my poster of D’Nash.
‘Ok,Ok.. It was nice..’
‘What did you do?’
He laid down on his belly. I did the same. My bed was big enough.
‘He had made a picnic, so we ate and drank.. Than we watched sunset and we walked over the beach. He also had brought a radio and we danced. And he teased me, just like you always do.. But I punished him..’
‘O-oh.. What did you do?’
‘I gave him the tickle-dead. It was really nice..’
He smiled and looked at me.
‘Whaat!’
‘You are soo in love!!’
‘Oh! I’m not!!’
‘You are! You are drooling about one of my best friends!! Whahah! Hilarious!’
I stuck my tongue out and got up from my bed. I pulled him of it and pushed him to the door. But it wasn’t so easy.
‘What are you doing?’
‘I’m trying to get your ass out of my room! Shoo! I wanna sleep!’
‘You mean dream about Mikel!!’
He had to run. I threw a pillow after him, but he was to fast and disappeared in his own room. I closed the door and leaned against it. I closed my eyes. Was Basty right?

I stood up before Basty could wake me up. I putted my clothes on and walked downstairs. Ana was surprised.
‘Buenos días! You are early! Could you wake Basty this time?’
‘Time to wake him.. He will regret it!’
I walked to his room. Quietly I opened the door. He was still sleeping. He looked so innocent. I sprang on his bed and jumped up and down.
‘Good morning!! Time to wake up!!’
‘Nooo.. I wanna sleep!! Let me sleeep!!’
‘You have to wake uh-up! Or do you wanna be late for school?’
‘Wha? School?’
‘Yes! It’s just Wednesday..’
I was still jumping.
‘Stop it!!’
I stopped and fell on his bed.
‘Do you wake up than?’
‘I’m already woken! Thanks to you..’
‘Ha! Now you know how that feels.. You always do that to me..’
He made a face. Quick I ran out of the room before he would do something. I walked back downstairs and started to ate my breakfast. Not much later Basty came downstairs.
‘Dude, you look like a ghost..’
‘Haha.. Not funny..’
And he rubbed his eyes. He was already dressed so we could leave after his breakfast. This time I took my own motor.

‘Amigo, you look terrible..’
Ony said to Basty. Basty looked angry at him.
‘He had a terrible nightmare this morning.’
I joked.
‘Yeah I did.. Only I was awake while I got that nightmare..’
Ony looked confused. Javi, Mikel, Hen, Ans and Sabine laughed.
‘I had to wake him.. Ana asked me to do that. So I did.. Only he didn’t like the way I did it..’
‘She jumped on my bed and screamed that I had to wake up.. No wonder I’m looking terrible.’
I looked like an angel. But I couldn’t hide a huge smile on my face.
‘You’re a devil when you have to wake him, right?’
Mikel asked me with a smile.
‘Well, he doesn’t wake me up nicely so I do the same.. But it worked.. Otherwise he would still sleeping.. I think he was dreaming about something really nice..’
Basty blushed.
‘I KNEW it!! Whahahaha!! I know were he was dreaming about!’
‘Don’t dare to tell anyone! Or else you will regret it!’
He looked angry at me.
Everybody started to laugh. We walked into the school.

Hen sat down next to me.
‘And?’
‘And what? Why do all the conversations have to begin like this?’
‘How was your date?’
‘Gosh! You’re just as irritating as Basty!’
‘Tell me..’
‘Tell what?’
‘About the date!’
Javi sat in front of us and turned around.
‘Yeah, tell! I wanna know too!’
He smiled.
‘You two are terrible!’
I tried to hide my smile.
‘It was amazing. We can see it.’
‘How?’
‘You are glowing! And smiling! It’s soo obvious that it was amazing!’
‘Crap.. Ah,well.. It was.. No more details.’
‘Please?’
‘No Javi!’
‘Pretty please with a cherry on top?’
‘Javi, stop begging!’
‘Aaah? Please?’
‘Hen stop it!! I’m not gonna tell you anything!’
I smiled.
‘No! Don’t use puppy eyes. You know that I hate them.’
I shouldn’t have said that. Two pair of puppy eyes stared at me.
‘Na-ah! You can beg what you want, I’m not gonna tell it!’
Finally they stopped and I could concentrate on the teacher.

In the break:

‘What did I hear? You had a date with Mikel?’
‘Gosh! Why is everybody so sharp today!’
Sabine and Ans stood next to me and Ony in front of me.
‘That’s a yes for me.’
I looked at Ans and made a face.
‘He came home yesterday around 22.30.. You should have seen his smile. Incredible.’
Mikel walked by and smiled at me. Gosh, that smile.. Was Basty right? I woke up from my thoughts. Somebody was waving in front of me.
‘Helloo? Joehoe! Are you still with us?’
Ony stopped waving.
‘Yea,yea.. Where should I go to?’
‘I dunno.. Heaven no. 7?’
Sabine joked. Again my mind strayed of.
‘Hello Mar, Earth here.’
No reaction.
‘Houston. We have a problem.’
‘Eh? Wha?’
‘Hehe! We have contact again! Houston! It worked! The contact is repaired!’
Ans and Ony were joking.
‘What? Huh?’
‘You were somewhere else again with your mind.’
Sabine explained.
‘Rii-..’
The bell rang.
‘Saved by the bell..’

We walked to our next subject. Mikel sat down next to me. And of course Basty, Javi, Ony, Sabine, Hen and Ans looked at us.
‘They know..’
‘About what?’
‘About our date..’
‘O-oh..’
‘Yeah.. You can say that.. I’m avoiding all those questions from them, but it isn’t quit easy.. Hen and Javi knew it already, and Sabine too.. Ans and Ony know it now.. And Basty didn’t stopped asking last night.. So I had to tell him..’
‘What do you mean with Hen and Javi knew it already? Did you told them?’
‘Yeah.. I called Hen yesterday.. I needed her help..’
‘You didn’t knew what to do after you got my textmessege..’
‘Yes.. I was confused..’
‘Are you still confused?’
‘Yes.. No.. I don’t know..’
I stared out of the window. At least I TRIED to, but Mikel looked at me. He smiled. In his green eyes came little sparks of happiness. I couldn’t help it, but I had to look in them. It was like I drowned in those eyes. I smiled back and blushed. He smiled even more. Was I falling in love with him?

Hen had called everybody to meet each other in the mall in Madrid.
‘Okay.. Why did we had to come? And why so mysterious?’
‘Wait.. Has this something to do with 30 April?’
‘Yes Ony, it has.’
‘Okay.. Now I’m curious!! Hen, tell!’
‘Easy Ans! I’ll tell…’
‘Good..’
And I drank my coke.
‘Javi’s birthday is soon, and I thought: Let’s give a surprise party!’
I almost choked in my coke.
‘Are you ok?’
Hen asked worried.
‘Yeah,yeah.. Just.. A surprise party.. It was a surprise for me that you suggested it..’
They started to laugh and I coughed.
‘Ok.. I’m okay again.. tell me the details over your suprising idea..’
Hen started to explain her idea. It sounded great. The boys would do something with Javi and we would decorate the garden.
‘Sounds great!’
Everybody agreed with Basty. We all got a thing to do. Basty would take care of the BBQ, Ony of the lights, Mikel of the music and we, the girls, of the decorations.

Four days later was the party. Everybody was having fun. I noticed that Javi was looking at Hen when she didn’t watched. I smiled.
‘Shall we dance?’
Mikel asked me.
‘Yeah, of course!’
We walked to the improvised dance floor. Mikel laid his arms around my waist. He smiled. I felt something in my belly. It was a weird feeling, but it felt nice. After a few songs we stopped. I walked to Basty.
‘I need your help..’
Basty looked surprised.
‘Tell me..’
‘Ok.. Promise not to yell or anything like that..’
‘Promised..’
We walked to the chairs.
‘I.. I have a weird feeling in my belly.. It’s not an unpleasant feeling but.. I don’t know..’
‘Hmm… When do you have it?’
‘When.. When I’m close with.. Mikel..’
His eyes got big and he got a huge smile on his face.
‘I told you! You are in love with him..’
‘Yeah.. Maybe you’re right.. Can you talk to Mikel?’
‘About what?’
‘Just.. Ask him something..’
‘No need to.. He likes you.. When we were with Javi at the beach, he talked with me.. He told me that he likes you very much.. That’s why he asked you out..’
‘Thank you.’
And I gave him a hug. Mikel was talking with Javi and Ony. They were standing at the edge of the pool. I smiled and sneaky walked to them. Ony noticed me but didn’t say anything to me. I stood behind Mikel and pushed him in the pool.
‘Hee!!!’
And he fell into the water. He could grab my ankle and pulled me with him into the pool.
Everybody walked to the pool to see what was going on.
‘Why did you that!’
Mikel asked me.
‘Hmm.. To teas you..’
‘Oh! You..’
And he swam to me. Quick I swam away, but soon he had catched me.
‘Now I have to punish you..’
A smile appeared on his face.
‘How do you wanna do that?’
‘With this..’
His face came closer. Again I felt that weird feeling. I looked into his eyes. Those sexy green eyes. I felt his lips on mine. They were so soft. I kissed him back. There was firework in my head. My heart was beating faster and faster. He came closer to me and laid his arms around me. I did the same. I could feel his heart beating. It was beating really fast. He released me. We were both gasping.
‘I.. I don’t know why I did that..’
Mikel blushed. I smiled and pulled him back and kissed him.
‘It’s ok.. I just realized that I love you.. Not just as a friend…’
Mikel smiled. And kissed me back. Basty was right.
