Part 19

2 years later
Madrid

My work forced me to travel in Madrid for couple of days. I had just done my work and was going back to my hotel. Raúl had moved back to Sevilla and Carlos was on a vacation and I didn't want to go to his home.
Suddenly someone shouted me.
- Susana!! Is it really you?
I turned to look who it was, though I knew. It was Javi.... with a little girl!
- It IS really you! he said and came closer, - Hey, so nice to see you! he said and hugged me and gave a kiss to my cheek.
- Hi! I smiled.
- This is my daughter, Mayte, Javi introduced the girl and he seemed to be so proud of her.
- She looks just like you! I smiled.
- But how are you? he asked.
- Just fine, I lied again.
My feelings about him hadn't changed at all! I still loved him like crazy and now seeing him opened my wounds again.
- Why did you left so quickly? You never told me you were going to move, Javi asked then.
Sonia came to us.
- Hola, Susana! she greeted happily and took the girl from Javi.
- Hola! How are you? I asked and smiled.
- Fine, just fine, she smiled, - Javi, didn't you go to the toilet with her? Sonia said to Javi and left with the girl.
- So... you didn't answer yet, Javi said still looking at me.
- I had to leave, I replied and tried to avoid looking at him.
- But why? I mean you could have stayed over the weddings, right?
- No, I couldn't..., I said and was thinking if I finally should tell him.
- I don't understand you. I mean we were the best of friends and then you couldn't be with me when I had the happiest day of my life, he said.
- That was the saddest day of my life, I said and felt the tears again in my eyes.
- Saddest? Javi was really surprised.
- Yes... because I loved you. I couldn't see you getting married. I knew you were happy and I didn't want to spoil anything. You deserved to be happy. I couldn't be near you anymore, I had to leave. Seeing you hurt so much.
Javi was shocked.
- Loved me? he whispered.
- Yes! I loved you and I still do and I think I'll never stop loving you, I said and the tears were already falling down on my cheeks.
- Susana? Javi sighed.
I saw he was still wearing the friendship necklace like I was too. A friend! Why the hell he wanted to be only a friend?!
- I have to go, I sobbed and turned to go.
- No, wait... don't go!! Let's talk! he exclaimed.
I started running. I didn't want to talk to him anymore. I couldn't get him, so why to talk.
- Susana! Don't go! he yelled after me.
But I ran away from him.
- Nooooo.....!!! I heard Javi's voice echoing in my head.

i'm speechless...

Why I have bad thoughts about the next part....

What a ... Stop stupid girl. And you smart girl post the final part. Otherwise I wont sleep this night.

Suddenly everything went black and then I felt floating up and up...
I looked down. I saw a girl laying on the ground. There were a car and people around her.
I looked at them closer. I realised the girl was me... and the man who was holding her... it was Javi. He was crying.
I heard a voice calling me. I looked at around and saw my grandma. She had been dead for 5 years. I realised I was dead. Dead?
- Susana, my grandma said, - Your time has come.
- What do you mean? I asked.
- I waited for you. You're now here with me, she said smiling.
- Am I dead? I asked.
- Yes. You're an angel now, my grandma replied.
- Angel?
- Yes. You're his guardian angel now, she smiled.
- His?
- Javi's.
- How? I was full of questions.
- You two weren't meant to be together. You loved him truly, but you let him be free. You knew he didn't love you in the same way. But you are still special to him. He loved you in his own way.
- And I never had a chance to be happy with him, I said.
- Oh, but you had! Even if it was just for a one night, you were happy. You both were. It was a special night for both of you. But now... your time is full. You'll be his guardian angel and you'll follow his every step. You don't feel pain anymore. You feel just love. And when his time is full, you'll wait him here and then you are together again.
- I'll see him again? I was surprised.
- Yes and he will see you, grandma smiled.
- But what about his wife? I was confused, - Won't he be with her.
- Yes... but he will come here first. And he'll become her guardian angel, her and their child's.
- And I can talk to him? I kept asking questions.
- Yes. You can talk about everything, grandma nodded.
- Who was my guardian angel?
- I was, grandma smiled.
- Where's grandpa? I asked.
- He is here as well, she smiled.
- Someone's guardian angel too?
- Yes, Raúl's, grandma nodded.
- But you are together here?
- We are. Don't worry. You will see him here. Your friendship never dies.

I followed Javi all the time. My death seemed to be difficult for him. His wife tried to comfort him, but he was miserable. I decided to appear him in his dream. We were walking on a beach and talking. I told him I was in a good place now and that I was ok... I knew that he missed me, but one day we would meet again. I wanted him to be happy that he knew me and that he would now take care of his family. They needed him. In the end I said that I'd be his friend forever. Then he woke up and seemed to be confused, but I knew he had calmed down. Then I noticed he was taking a good care of his family. He let his wife support him and I saw how they loved each others.
I was happy, because he was happy.
Javi used to go to my grave in a while. He talk to me and tell all kind of things he has in mind. I'm glad about it. He never forgets me. I used to think what kind of life we would have had, if he loved me... or if I didn't love him.

Now... this story is over. I guess you believe me now when I say I'm an angel. I hope maybe you learned something from this. If not, this was just a story among others.
Oh, it seems Javi is waking up to a new day, so I have to go now... taking care of his every step until he is here with me. I'm patient. I have the eternity and my love for him is eternal, until the end of time.
