Part 16

Sarah went to pack and I went to chew out Javi. He was already waken and was looking his T-shirt. I started to tick him at the same time I was speaking.
- Idiot! I’m sure you knew that Juan wasn’t here last night and those voices came from TV, I made him guilty.
- Hey! Stop that ticking. It doesn’t feel nice, he complained. - But wait, so Juan wasn’t here last night.
And when he really realized what that meant, he burst into laughing.
- This isn’t funny at all, I shook my head.
- It is, Javi still laughed.
- It’s not, I yelled.
I took a pillow and started to hit Javi of it.
- It’s your fault that my life is totally messed up. If you weren’t come to my office that day I wouldn’t be here at the moment. And I wouldn’t have slept with you in vain, I yelled and hit him during every word.
- Hey, calm down now! Javi shouted and took the pillow from me and locked my arms so I couldn’t do anything.
- Now listen to me. It’s not my fault that your life is messed up. You’ve arranged it on your own. And about last night, obviously you win the bet. So I’ll go even to hotel but I’m going to keep my word, he said.
I released myself and went to sit on the bed. I buried my face to my hands. And little later I started to shake. I was crying. Javi noticed that and came to sit next to me. He hugged me gently. He slowly caressed my hair and let me cry.
- Shh…Calm down. Everything is okay now, he whispered.
- No, it isn’t, I answered only.
- So, why are you crying? he asked.
- This all is so confusing, I answered.
- But at least you don’t need to stand me anymore, Javi said.
- You don’t need to go anywhere. Sarah and Juan are leaving today so you can sleep in their room, I said.
- If it won’t bother you, Javi said.
- No it won’t, I smiled.

Javi left to eat something but I stayed there. I didn’t know was it wise to let him stay here. But I had already promised it so it was too late to do anything.

I spent that day at the house. Javi had again gone somewhere. And Sarah left also with their entire luggage. She was going to pick Juan from hospital and then leave to that cruise. I was making food when Javi came back.
- Mmm…Smells good. What are you doing? he asked and came to watch what I was doing.
- It’s just some pasta thing, I answered.
- But even so, it smells tasty, he said.
- Hope it tastes also good, I grinned.
- I’m sure it does, Javi smiled.

I went to bed early because I had barely slept last night. But still I couldn’t sleep. I heard Javi moving in the other room. And then nothing. I thought he had fallen asleep. I walked silently to living room. I didn’t turn the light on. I wanted to think all of this. First there was Daniel. I hope that I had got rid of him finally. At least he hasn’t called me. Then Ony, I really hope that he finds some better woman for him than I was. And then Javi. I really didn’t know what I felt about him. One moment he was so cute that I wanted to kiss him, the other moment he was so annoying that I wanted slap him straight to his face. What the hell I’m going to do now?

I had again buried my face to my hands. This was hopeless.
- Somebody else can’t sleep either? Javi asked suddenly.
I got scared. I didn’t hear him coming there.
- Noup, I mumbled to my hands.
He caressed my back.
- You don’t need to comfort me, I’m not crying, I said.
- No, but you looked so lonely, he answered and hugged me.
My eyes were locked to his so green eyes. Then something what Javi had said earlier came to my mind. About that I really should do something unpredictable. Then I kissed him softly.
- What was that for? Javi asked surprised.
- You once said that I should do something unpredictable. Well, I think I just did something like that, I smiled.
- Take or leave, I whispered to his ear.
I walked to my room and left the door open. I had counted right. Javi followed me and shut the door.

Part 17

Our situation was weird, I have to confess. Javi was obviously with Basty, Mikel and Ony at the days. But he came back at the afternoon and spent the evenings and nights with me. I never asked what he did by day and he didn’t ask my doings. And I was satisfied for this situation. But of course nothing can last forever.

Annelien called me one morning when Javi had already left.
- So, have you got great holiday? she asked.
- Well, yes. This has been as good holiday as it could have been in this kind of situation, I replied.
- What do you mean? she asked curious.
- Nothing. But did you have something real thing to tell me? I asked quickly.
- Actually yes. We would need you here as soon as possible. This company isn’t working without you apparently, Annelien said.
- Can you look the suitable flight for me? I asked.
- Sure. I’ll tell you the details later, she replied.
Soon she sent a SMS. My flight would leave this afternoon. I started packing. I’ve thought myself that maybe it would be wise to leave here soon. And Annelien’s call came really good time.

I was ready and waiting for the taxi to take me to the airport. Then Javi came back. He noticed my luggage in the living room.
- Are you leaving somewhere? he asked.
- Annelien called me and they need me there, I answered.
- So, shall we see each others after this? Javi asked quietly and gave a soft kiss to me.
But I didn’t answer to that kiss.
- Maybe it’s better that we won’t, I said.
- Why? he asked.
- I must clear up my mind of all this mess first, I said.
- What the hell is that mess what you have talked so much? he asked angry.
- At first Daniel wanted me back. And I hope that I’ve got rid of him, even I don’t believe that. Then at the Juan’s party I was so drunk that I slept with Ony. And then after that I heard that he would like to be with me. But I didn’t want it. Then you started to meddle in my things. And then I slept with you also. And I’ve broken my own rule that I won’t sleep with customers, I explained.
- Maybe you should believe sometimes what your heart says and don’t believe what your mind says. Because sometimes heart tells the truth.” he said sadly.
I haven’t notice how weird Javi’s face had turned during my explanation. Then I heard my taxi coming.
- So, keep nice holiday here, I said and turned around and left.

I didn’t look back. Maybe I should have, because then I would have seen a heart broken man.
