Part twenty-seven
Almeira was staring at the waves through her tears. It was so beautiful to see the waves going up and down and just feel water caressing her feet. It calmed her down a bit and she tried to pull Ony’s face out of her heart and throw it away from her head, but it was really hard.
Almeira sighed. She was so stupid. From beginning to the end, she was so stupid… If only she could change anything. If only she could change everything! But would she then?
Almeira imagined Ony’s voice singing to her and she closed her eyes.
‘Hasta que me ames, hasta que me llores, como todas lo hacen por ti…’ she whispered and smiled with a sad smile. Ever since Mallorca she was having those words in her heart and ever since then she swore she will not stop until Ony loves her as she loved him. How stupid…
‘Hasta que me digas, que vas a ser mia…’ Almeira heard somebody saying quietly behind her and she turned around fast. Ony was smiling to her and Almeira’s heart started beating faster and faster.

Ony was smiling to her, because he knew she sang about him. He knew it! Her silent whisper was like angel’s song to him and he wanted to yell out of happiness that he was there, that she was near, that she didn’t hate him… He saw tears on her cheeks and he wanted to kiss each piece of her face for crying for him.
But he felt weird, he was standing there still and he couldn’t move at all. All he could do was staring at her and smiling. But it was all he needed during those few silent moments. Besides, he needed to catch his breath and he tried to ignore pain on the said brought by lack of oxygen.
‘You….you scared me,’ Almeira finally said when she couldn’t take the silence any longer. She turned her back to Ony and got back to watching the sea.
‘I am sorry,’ Ony said. It meant so much. He was sorry for everything he did wrong.
‘It’s ok. I forgive you,’ Almeira whispered. ‘How did you find me?’ she asked few more seconds.
‘Mikel told me where you went. He saw you in the crowd,’ Ony said the truth. His breath was finally normal again.
‘Oh Mikel,’ Almeira said and finally smiled. She shook her head gently. ‘As always. I will never be able to pay him for everything he had done for me,’ Almeira said.
‘And for me too. For us,’ Ony said and Almeira looked at him a bit confused. She wanted to believe it meant what she wanted it to mean, but she was afraid to dream. ‘Almeira, do you remember how in Madrid you didn’t take my autograph?’ Ony asked.
‘Yes,’ Almeira said silently. She didn’t really understand what he wanted to say by those words.
‘Well, I want you to take my autograph now. Can I sign?’ Ony asked. He took her hands into his and looked straight into her eyes. Almeira ran out of breath.
‘What?’ she just stuttered. ‘What…what do you want to sign? I… I don’t have anything here…no paper, no…no nothing,’ she said.
‘It’s not needed,’ Ony said and smiled. ‘Can I sign…your heart?’ he whispered. Ony kissed her fingers while she stood there silent and speechless and when she smiled, he knew it was her answer. He leaned and finally allowed himself to take what was meant to be his from very beginning.

Two people were kissing under the moonlight with their feet in the water, wind in their hair and they didn’t care about anything. They both finally found peace of their souls and hearts in each other.
‘I love you,’ she said.
‘I will love you forever,’ he answered.
And it was more than words.
