Prologue
Dear diary. I just decided to write you so I guess I should start from the beginning. My name is Elena. I was born into a world of lies, cheating, money and parties. You could say it’s kinda cool having money and being able to buy anything, but you are wrong. I’m living in a world with no love, no kindness nor with nice words. To be honest I feel empty. And my parents don’t care if I am happy. All they care about are money and their bussiness. They own a net of hotel all around the world and that keeps them pretty bussy. But I don’t want to complain. I love my life. I love the freedom.

Today is the last day of school. And then holidays. I don’t know where I will spend them, but I’m sure it won’t be easy to forget.
“Hurry up, Elena.” my mother was shouting at me.
“I’m going, I’m going.” I was shouting back.
“We need to be there on time. They weren’t exactly happy about it.”
“What did you expect?” I asked her.
“Little more respect.” my mom rolled her eyes.
“You booked whole store.” I was pretty surprised about her reaction. But who cares. Since she was voted the most powerfull woman in America I guess I can’r expect something less than this.
“Honey. I just want the best for you.”
“Maybe you should spend more time with me.” I suggested.
“You are big girl. And big girls need privacy.”
“Right. But spending more time with family wouldn’t hurt anyone.”
“Stop talking nonsensess.” she told me and started to look pretty nervous.
“Haven’t you seen Emilian?” she asked me.
“Who?” I have never heard about him.
“Our new driver.” she said calmly.
“Is it really necessary to have a new driver every week?”
“When I find the right one I will keep him.”
“OK. I’m already quiet.”
After few minutes Emilian arrived. My mom was pretty angry.
“I’m sorry madam. Traffic jam is terrible today.”
“I won’t tolerate any more delays. Next time you will be fired.”
“Of course madam.” he said and smiled but I saw sadness in his eyes.
“You can’t blame him ‘coz he is late. Blame the traffic jam.”
“Don’t defend him. I gave him one more chance. His last one.” she said while we were going to the store she booked. I still don’t know if she booked also the personal or if there is her own stylist.The car stopped. I have to say it was a smooth ride.Emilian opened the door for us and we got out. As usually there were many papparazzis around my mom. We made our way through them to the store. Everyone was waiting for us.
“May I take your coat?” one of the girls who worked there asked us politely.
“Thank you.” my mom said and gave her her and my coat.
“I need a special dress for my daughter. She has a graduation ceremony today and I want her to look as a queen.”
“OK madam. If you could follow me please.” the girl, her name was Nancy, said and led us into a part with dresses. And there I saw it. Wonderfull green dress with golden belt. And they had it just in my size. I tried it and it fitted me. My mom wanted me to try other dresses, but I didn’t want to. I headed to the shoes to choose the right ones. After an hour I was ready to leave the store. Emilian was already waiting for us. This time he made everything right and my mom even smiled.
“We need to back in 25 minutes.” she said to him.
“Why?” I was curious.
“Marquo is waiting for you?”
“Who?”
“A hairdresser. You didn’t think you will go there like that. Did you?”
“How could I dare?” I said sarcastically.
“Good.”
There was ackward silence between us. But luckily Emilian was driving fast so it didn’t last for long. He opened the door for us again. I guess he really wanted this job. But who wouldn’t? He was the best paid driver all over the world.
“Marquo.” my mom welcomed the hairdresses.
“Oh. This must be Elena. You are even more beautiful than your mother described you, mz darling.” he was almost melting. I bet I saw saliva on his mouth.
“Thank you.” I said and wanted it to be behind me as soon as possible.
“Let’s get started.” he said and I let him do what he wanted.
After two hours he was finished. Finally. It was like torturing. But the result was preatty awesome. He curled my hair but in some nameless way. It was wonderful. Now I know why my mother loves him so much.

I was in my room waiting for a make-up artist. I never knew it takes so much people to get someone ready for a graduation ceremony.
“Elena!” my mother was again shouting. I have no idea how her vocal cords can survive it. It seems she is shouting all day long. I went down the stairs and saw her. Michelle. She was supposed to be one of the best make-up artists in the music industry, but I just didn’t like it. My mother was whispering something to her. And I was standing there with my dress and hairdo like an idiot.
“I have a perfect idea.” Michelle said and smiled. I would swear I saw something else in her smile. It was like she was telling me not to dare to protest. I don’t know if she knows what I think about her ”art”, but who cares? She started to “work” on me. I just prayed to look normal and not like Barbie. But whatever. In my timing it took her my whole life, but according to the clock on the table it was just 25 minutes.
“You look wonderful.” she said smiling. I was so scared to look into the mirror. But I did it. And suprisingly I didn’t look like a clown but like me. But the time was running so mom called Emilian again and he drove me to the shool. The party was supposed to be in the main hall and there were already many limousines. I got outta the limo and started to look for my friends. And there they were coming. Angie, Sergo and Pris. My best frinds since I have entered this institution. We shared the same interest, we lived in neighbourhood, we liked different type of boys and we all hated him. He was something like John Tucker. He had 5 girls on his every finger, but the difference between him and John was, that the girls knew about each other. But they didn’t mind it ‘coz dating him was like dating god. I was looking for him ‘coz I didn’t want to meet him.
“He is not yet here.” Angie said.
“I hope he’s not coming.” Sergo added.
“He is not gonna miss it.” said Pris and added:”But this will be our night girls.”
We all agreed. We went to the hall where the music was already playing. When the DJ saw us he started to play Don’t Stop The Music from Rihanna. It was our song. And then he entered the hall with bunch of girls around him.This can’t be good.
“Look who is here. Mister Perfect Ass.” said Angie ironically.
“What a name.” Sergo smiled.
The girls in the hall started to yell. We barely heard each other so decided to go out for a moment ‘till they stop. We finally were out.
“I’m leaving for holidays.” I told them.
“What? Where? When?” Sergo was shocked.
“Dunno. My mother didn’t tell me that kind of informations.”
“What are we gonna do here without you?”
I told what my mother told me earlier and they were shocked. We didn’t leave each other in last 7 years so it will be pretty difficult to stay for some time without them. They were like my sisters. After few minutes it seemed that all the girls in the hall were quiet so we decided to go back there. And there he stood. Mister Perfect Ass Francisco Javier Alvarez Colinet. He was standing right in the middle of the door. Oh gosh. How are we supposed to get in?

I was walking straight to him. The blood in my body was boiling. When I was passing him, he gave such a look that made me shiver. But I didn’t pay an attention to it and acted like everything was fine. After few hours, when the party was going to end, they announced the queen and the king of the party.I don’t mind I was the queen, but the queen has to dance with the king and since Mister Perfect Ass was announced as the king, I minded it.
“Looks like you’re not gonna escape me.” he said smiling while we were dancing.
“I never tried to escape you. I was just avoiding you.” I said coldly.
“Such a pretty girl shouldn’t be that cold.” he was teasing me.
“I’m not cold.” I replied and wanted to leave him. But he holded me even tighter.
“I’m gonna kick you if you’re not letting me go.” I said angrily.
“Relax sweetie. How can you refuse to dance with such a great dancer as I am?”
“You might be great dancer but you are totall asshole.” I said and luckily the song was over so I was free to go. I left him standing in the middle of the hall but not for a long time ‘coz right after I left him all the girls were around him. I went to say goodbye to my friends and headed to the limo. Emilian took me back to our house where my mom was waiting for me. And next to her stood our suitcases.
“What is this?” I asked surprised.
“I told you we’re leaving.”
“Yeah, but you kinda forgot to tell me that we are leaving today.”
“I didn’t? Well, I’m telling you now.”
“Awesome.” I said and went to change my clothes. I guess I couldn’t fly in a fancy dress. And I didn’t even ask her where we are going. Great. When I get back to the entrance hall I finally asked her.
“Where are we going?”
“To Spain. Exactly Barcelona.”
“Mister Perfect Ass’ hometown. Awesome.” I mumbled.
“What did you just say?”
“That it is gonna be great.”
And then we went to the airport. It was overcrowded as usually, but when you have a private jet there’s no need to go through all the stupid checks. I sat down at the back of our jet and started to read a book I bought on the way. It was The Alchymist. I had never heard about it but the seller said that it is awesome so I bought it. But I fall asleep after some minutes so I didn’t read it at all. My mom woke me up when we were in Barcelona. We got outta the jet and a limo took us to the hotel. I had an awesome view from my hotel room. I especially liked Sagrada Familia. Because it was too late I took a shower and went to bed. I slept like a little child. When I woke the other day I felt great. I took a morning shower, put some clothes on and went to get some breakfast. The guy at the reception desk gave me a note from my mother. I had whole day free. After the breakfast I went back to my room to get my personal stuff and then I went sightseeing. I spend 5 days doing it. Barcelona was awesome. But one morning was my mother kinda nervous. I knew something happened.

“What’s wrong mom?” I asked her.
“She is here.” Well, that wasn’r exactly the answer I expected but what.
“Does she have a name?”
“Ana Maria Alvarez Colinet.” she said.
Uh oh. This can’t be good. Why the heck she has the same surnames as Mister Perfect Ass?
“Does she has a son?”
“How do you know that?” my mom was surprised.
“He was kinda my schoolmate.”
“Kinda?”
“Yeah. We were in the same year but I didn’t pay much attention to him. He was such an asshole.”
She looked at me but said nothing. I knew she wanted to be alone so I left her. I was walking through the lobby when I saw him. Mister Perfect Ass. Well, maybe it’s time for new nickname. But I didn’t want to think about it now. As a matter of fack I even wasn’t given the idea to think about it because from nothing nothing he appeared right in front of me. How the heck he did it?
“Let’s see who’s here. My queen.”
“I’m no-one’s queen.” I said and I swear if so many people weren’t around I would kick him.
“Well, we are the king and the queen ‘till the next graduation ceremony, so you’re still my queen.”
“And do you know what king does with queen?” I asked him. A noughty smile appeared on his face.
“Oh gosh. Not this. King is nice to his queen.”
“Aha. But my idea was much better.”
“Speak for yourself.” I said and went away. But after few metres he ran to me and started to annoy me again.
“Want something?” I asked him peevishly.
“Dunno. What are you gonna do?”
“It’s not your bussiness.”
“I can show it here to you.”
“No thanx. I was doing this for last 5 days. Now I wanna do something else.”
“Like what?” he was persistent.
“Maybe shopping.” I finally said in hope he will leave me alone. Oh gosh, how wrong I was.
“Cool. I love shopping.”
“Are you kidding me?”
“Why would I ever do that?”
“You are a guy. You are supposed to hate shopping.” I tried to get rid of him.
“That’s your idea about men?”
“Yep.” I said without hesitating.
“Then I guess it’s great you’re gonna spend some time with me. We Spaniards are completely differente.”
“If all Spaniards are just like you then I’m very pleased.” I said ironically.
“I will prove you are wrong. Now let’s go.”
And so we went. First I wasn’t exactly happy about him being with me, but he had damn good taste in clothes. I guess I could change my mind about him after all, but I don’t wanna judge him just by this day. Let’s see what next days will bring.
