Chapter 39

“ONY!”
The door burst open as Mikel, Basty and Javi rushed into the burning room. Struggling to make their way through the smoke, the guys eventually ended up in the main room, where they found Ony in a crumpled heap on the floor, struggling to breathe, while the peasant woman stood over him, laughing in a high pitched squeak. She was making strange hand movements over his shaking body, and began to mutter strange words in a deep voice.
Mikel rushed forward, finally seeing Ony through the thick smoke, and the woman looked up sharply, her eyes glowing a deep red. The flames behind her were rising and growing stronger by the minute, and Mikel breathed in sharply in shock. He stared her in the eyes, and the woman snarled.
“YOU! I know who you are…You’ve helped him escape me- but now you’ve failed! He’s mine now!” She screamed at Mikel, who stood for a moment, his mind rushing.
“Mikel!” Basty shouted, shaking Mikel out of his confusion. “Get Ony! I’ll call for help…”
“NO!” Mikel and the woman shouted in unison, and they stared at each other for a moment, before they both made a dash for Ony. Mikel grabbed Ony’s crumbled shape, and Javi rushed forward to help. “Help us Basty!” Mikel shouted, and Ony was muttering quietly, hardly able to get the words out.
“Please, please, help…” He was saying, but Mikel ssshed him.
The woman shrieked. “NO!” The guys had managed to get Ony standing, when the woman rushed towards them in rage. “I’ve waited 200 years for this; I am not going to let you get away!” She came at them, and grabbed Ony’s arm. Ony tried to pull it away meekly, but had little strength left. Sweat was pouring off the guys, and the guys pulled Ony to try to get rid of the woman. She was extraordinarily strong, and they struggled to get Ony away from her. Desperate and afraid for his friend, Javi stepped towards the woman and pushed her away. She screamed, and fell backwards. She fell through the glass doors, and the sound was deafening. She slipped off the balcony, and screamed as she fell. The rush of oxygen made the fire explode, and the guys rushed out of the room, slipping and spluttering through the smoke. They blindly made their way down the corridor, following the green light that was being emitted by the “emergency exit” sign, and they weakly but surely made their way down the emergency stairs. They almost had to drag Ony; he had lost all strength in his body, and was having to lean on them all. They finally made their way outside, where everyone from the hotel had gather. The sirens of the fire engines and the ambulances were loud and piercing. As soon as they reached the outside Ony fell onto the floor, and curled into the foetus position, sobbing quietly into his hands. Mikel bent over and spluttered as his adjusted to finally having clean air, and Javi leaned on Basty as he coughed. A paramedic rushed towards Mikel, who shook him off.
“No, no not me, treat my friend, please, he needs more help.” The paramedic looked down and saw Ony, and called over his colleague, who brought a big bag with him, and they began to give Ony oxygen.
Basty turned to Mikel. “What the hell just happened?”

Wth? The woman is dead now? Naw.. Poor Ony..

Noooooo noo nooooooo! It's over. *sniffs*
It'll be ok, I'll get over it. I guess.. *sighs*

The ending was weird.. But at least the nasty woman is cleaners' problem now, lol.

Wow, wow, WOW! I had so many parts to read but it was SO worth it!
This story was soooo freaking awesome! I could so imagine the scene between Ony and the woman like I was watching a movie in my mind!
