Part 24

After coming back home other work things had filled my days so there could be days when I didn’t write the book at all. And that’s why it took over two months before the book was ready. And after that I had to read it over again if I noticed there any mistakes. My days had been so full that I had had less and less time to think about Javi. That’s why he followed me in my dreams. So, I couldn’t get rid of him even I wanted.

Finally I decided to give the books personally to guys. That was only because I wanted to see Javi. I was so curious if he had changed or not. Somewhere deep in my heart I wanted to believe that he would have changed and would have realized that I was here too. Although my brain tried to tell me that it was stupid to believe so. Why he would have changed? He hasn’t seen me over two months. That was long time and everything could happen during it. But I was stubborn and wanted to think only with my heart this time.

First I gave the books to Mikel and Basty. They were glad that I had finally finished it and promised to read it as soon as possible so we could start printing the books. I remembered also that they would send the pic of the front cover of the book to printing house. So they could do that kind of covers for the book like guys wanted.

Then I decided to go and give the next one to Javi. I rang the doorbell quite nervous. Would something change after this meeting?
- Oh, hi! I haven’t heard anything of you long time, Javi said gladly when he finally opened the door.
I was going to answer but then I heard somebody shouting from the flat.
- Javi!!? Who’s there? I heard woman shouting and coming to door also.
- This is Ana. She’s writing the book about D’Nash. And this is Camilla, my girlfriend, Javi introduced us.
I put fake smile on my face and greeted Camilla friendly.
- So, come in! We haven’t talked so long time, Javi said.
- I’m not staying long, I answered. – I just wanted to give you this.
- The book is finally ready? Javi asked gladly. – How great!
Camilla had left us alone for my luck.
- Yeah. If you could read it and then tell me if there’s something wrong.
- Ok. I’ll do it. But how are you? You left so quickly from Barcelona that we didn’t have time to talk at all, Javi answered. – Why you left so quickly?
- You really don’t know why I left? Then you must be totally blind, I said.
I was so angry at myself now. Why I had been so stupid and thought that Javi’s feelings would change to something else.
- What? I really don’t know. Tell me, Javi asked confused.
- Don’t blame me if I’m messing your life with telling this. It was you who wanted this, I warned. – It’s weird that you didn’t notice how interested I was in you. I tried to show it to you so many ways, but you didn’t notice it. You were treating me like a friend all the time.
Javi’s face was quite amazed when he finally realized what I meant.
- So…You…You mean that you fell in love with me? Javi asked surprised.
- Well, you can use those words too if you want.
- But why didn’t you tell anything about this to me?
- Would it have changed something then? I asked and continued when I saw how Javi’s look changed.
- That I was thinking too. No, it wouldn’t have changed anything. I knew that I couldn’t change your feelings so I gave up and left back to Madrid.
- So you left because you couldn’t be there with me? Javi asked.
I didn’t say anything, just nodded my head.
- So, are you still feeling the same, after two months?
- That’s why I wanted to see you. I wanted to know if I was still feeling the same. And I can say that nothing has changed.
I saw that Javi was really surprised what he had heard. I decided to leave him alone now.
- I still need to give the text to Ony. So I think we’ll see at the publishing ceremony then, I said. – Goodbye.
- Bye, Javi answered still watching me surprised.
I walked quickly to my car. I needed Ony now more than ever.

Why I feel that Ony would be right man to her? Not Javi...

Part 25

Javi was still sitting at the kitchen. He couldn’t believe his ears at all. That Ana loved him. How he hadn’t noticed anything? Now he started to realize how blind he had been. All those little hints seemed so clear right now after Ana had told everything.
- So, what she wanted to say to you? Camilla asked.
- She just told about this book, Javi answered slowly.
- She didn’t tell anything really important?
- No, not actually, Javi answered deep in his thoughts.
- Javi, don’t lie to me please. I heard everything. So, do you love her?
Javi looked at Camilla scared. Why he hasn’t realized that Camilla was here too.
- Of course not. We’re just friends. You know that I love only you.
- But you were together at the cottage where even I couldn’t come with you even I wanted, Camilla complained.
- She worked with us, so that’s totally different thing. And besides Basty, Ony and Mikel were there too. So nothing could have happened there because house was full of people, Javi explained.
- I don’t know. I want to think about this. And maybe we should think once again if it’s wise to move together, Camilla answered finally.
Javi stared at her in amazement.
- Are you trying to say that because Ana told about her feelings, WE should think this again?
- Yes. I noticed that I don’t know you so well that I could rust you so much that we could live together.
- But that’s ridiculous! I don’t love Ana, we’re just friends!
- Sorry, but I can’t be sure about that. Even I wanted to believe you I just can’t. I have my own suspicions, Camilla answered. – So I’ll go now. And please, don’t call me, I’ll call you when I’m ready.
Javi stared at Camilla mouth wide open. He couldn’t say anything when Camilla took her jacket and left to her own flat.

This all was happening only because Ana opened her mouth. Everything would be totally fine if she had kept her mouth shut. Javi started to feel angry because Ana had told her secret to him. Why she had to mess his life now, when everything seemed to go well? It wasn’t his fault that he couldn’t love Ana. He couldn’t change his feelings. It would be only lying then. This was totally unfair. Now he was suffering too about this situation when everything had been said out loud. Javi wouldn’t have wanted to even know anything about this. If he had noticed this before, maybe everything would be better. He decided to call Mikel if he knew anything about this.

- Did you know that Ana had feelings against me? Javi asked straight away.
- Oh, you noticed it until now? Yes, I knew about it, Mikel answered.
- Only because Ana told me it few minutes ago. And Camilla heard that and now she left “to think about things”. And how do you know about it?
- I noticed it when Ana was at the cottage with us. We all knew about it except you, Mikel answered.
- And now she has probably ruined my life because she opened her mouth.
- Hey! Don’t blame her. She hasn’t done anything wrong. You should think you own behaviour too. You can’t know how much she has suffered because you were so blind and didn’t notice anything.
- How could I have known anything because she didn’t say anything?
- I don’t know. But we others noticed it. So maybe it’s your fault then…
- Thanks a lot. You really are good friend, Javi said annoyed and hanged up.

Everything was going so wrong right now. It would have been much better if Ana hadn’t told anything about this thing. What you don’t know, don’t harm you at all.

At the same time Ana was driving to Ony. She was fighting against tears which were trying to escape under her eyelids. Finally she stopped in front of Ony’s house. She rang the doorbell. Ony opened the door and she walked straight away in and sat down on the couch and buried her face to her hands.
- Okay, what Javi has done this time? Ony asked and came to sit on the couch too.
- I told him everything, I mumbled through my hands.
- You told him that you love him? Ony asked.
- Exactly.
- And how he reacted? Ony asked carefully.
- He was totally surprised. He couldn’t believe me at first.
- Why you decided to tell him? I thought it would be better if he didn’t know.
- Because I saw him with his girlfriend. That made me so angry to myself that I wanted Javi would suffer a bit too. I just hope that Camilla, his girlfriend, didn’t hear what I said, I explained.
- I hope that too. It might cause too many problems, Ony said.
- And actually you were right. Camilla was really beautiful, just like a model. I don’t wonder at all that Javi chose her instead of me.
- Hey, now stop feeling pity for yourself. You’re great woman and Javi doesn’t know what he looses, Ony said.
- Well, at least I wasn’t good enough for Javi, I mumbled.
- Now stop that! Ony told and grabbed my hands and forced me to look at him. – It’s not your fault that Javi doesn’t love you. Understand? He can’t appreciate enough your good sides. The best piece of advice I can say to you is that you should forget him.

- Good. I think I’ll go home now. I have still much work to do.
- Alright. Just remember that nothing is your fault. Try to forget him.
- I know. I’ve gone through much worse things so I think I can survive also now, I smiled.
- Yeah, that’s true. Take care, Ony said.
- You too! Bye! I answered.
- Bye! Ony said back.

I drove back home. The truth was that I had acted much happier to Ony than I really was. I didn’t want to worry him too much. I had been so angry myself when I realized that Javi had girlfriend. Why I was so stupid that I thought he would have changed? I was so mad at myself during those days. I couldn’t leave those things alone, I had to think about them all the time. I think I managed to find at least hundred different ways how everything would have ended better. But everything was in vain, I couldn’t change anything anymore. I was too late, everything had already happened now. I didn’t know if it was wise move or not to tell Javi about my feelings. But I was so mad then that I wanted to take revenge on what I had felt because of Javi. I hoped Javi could feel at least a bit the same kind of confusion what I had felt. It was totally fair in my opinion that he could suffer a bit also. Of course it was childish, but I couldn’t help it.
